6/3/10 AFC Regent V Hamble United.  This was to be our first game at the sport centre and we had been warned that Regent were a very physical side and they didn't disappoint.  With no appointed Referee one of their supporters refereed the game They had a couple of players that wanted to play football, but the rest didn't and the ref was letting every thing go.  We had signed on two new centre-backs today and they where the first on the score sheet Luke Willis first with a header, then Regent equalised with a scrappy goal then Dean Cousins scored our second with a header from the back post, we went into the break 1 - 2 up.  I spoke with their keeper during the break about the ref as the game was getting out of hand and suggested he allow Mat Royl to take over as he is a qualified ref and they were happy with that.

So the second half started and we got down to playing football, well most of the time anyway.  Regent were not in the game this half as we played football around them, Shahin Bani-sadr opened the scoring followed by two for Mat Camfield who has just come back from suspension. Two more for Seb Allen  followed by Gary Rowe and last but by no means least Matt Dorey.

This was a good test for us, a very physical side that again constantly tried to intimidate us but it didn't work, in their words they were being beaten by kinder gardeners.  Compared to some of them we must have looked that young.  But it was good football that got us the result.

Final Score: AFC Regent 1, Hamble United 9

Hamble Goal Scorers: Matt Camfield 2, Seb Allen 2, Luke Willis 1, Dean Cousins 1, Shahin Bani-sadr 1, Gary Rowe 1 and Matt Dorey 1.

Man of the Match: Good performances all round but I'm going to give it to Mike Dove.  The most commanding I have seen him this season must have had his game face on!!!

20/2/10 Hamble United V Inter Northam.  This team are quite simply a bunch of thugs who don't want to play football.  But unfortunately in the lower divisions you have to face teams like this.  the final score was 1 - 3 to them, we scored three goals to their 1 but two of them were own goals.  In the first half we had Jarid with blood streaming down his neck after being elbowed by a defender then just before half time big Mat Royl had to got to Hospital after having the ball hit him full in the face from close range he's ok but is still suffering from blurred vision.  The comments from Inter Northam portrayed them for what they are.  Maybe things would have been different if we had a stronger Referee?

Final score: Hamble United 1.  Inter Northam 3

Hamble Goal scorers: Matt Dorey 1

6/2/10 Hamble United V Stanton.  After the disappointing performance last week we faced our toughest game since Christmas.  We beat Stanton 11 - 0 at there ground but we did not expect that today, they are top of the league and have had some good results.  We had to clear our heads of last weeks performance and put in a good one today.  Sebastian Allan is a new signing and was starting up front with Jarid and new keeper Nathan Abbott  filling in as both our normal keepers were out injured and work commitments.  As we expected it was a physical but far game.  we took the game to Stanton from the start.  playing some very good football and having most of the game.  10 minutes in Dan Gregory went in for a 50/50 ball he won that but took a nasty knock to his foot, after a visit to the hospital its not broken but he has done ligament damage and will be out for 6-8 weeks we wish him a speedy recovery.  Sam Mcmurray moved alongside Matt Royl and Joe Harman played left back.

It was the most vocal performance of the season thanks in part to Nathan and it was making a difference.  We were first to the ball and winning most of the 50/50's.  our first goal game from some great work from midfield the ball was played into Jarids feet he in turn played the ball across goal for Seb to finish, he promised me three at training and this was a start.

The team talk at the break was easy, more of the same.  so out they went, again the pressure that Stanton tried to put us under was comfortable dealt with.  During one of our chances Seb was brought down in the box and we were awarded a penalty, Jarid stepped up and beat the cover off the ball to score.  During one of the few opportunities Stanton had a corner and it was scrambled over the line, that was their consolation goal.  We continued to dominate the game and more chances came.  During one Seb was again being a nuisance in the box and but away his second and he finally fulfilled his promise and stuck away his third.  That was the end of the game, we had further opportunities to no avail and Stanton hit the post.  We maintained the pressure and finished the much stronger side.

This was us back to our best,  we deserved the win and the commitment of the whole team was terrific, with great individual performances all over the pitch.

Final Score: Hamble United 4, Stanton 1

Hamble Scorers: Sebastian Allan 3, Jarid Hixon 1(P)

Man of the Match:  Great performances all round, but if I have to pick one Joe Harman playing at left back for the first time.

==================== HUFC ====================

30/1/10 Hamble United V Anglers.  Second round in the cup and we had to face Anglers again having beaten them twice in the league 3 - 1 and 4 - 2 . I expected to get a decent result today.  Boy was I in for a shock.  Short of three of our back row and still missing cammy through suspension we should still have had enough to have dealt with anything the throw at us.  But we didn't, to say it was the worse game of football we have played all season is an understatement.   We didn't create any opportunities in the first half but conceded four through stupid mistakes.   Anglers worked hard at shutting us down,  we just couldn't find any rhythm to our game.

At half time I told the players not to panic as we know we can score goals and if we get our heads back into the game we would be ok.  We had a better second half but still not good enough Anglers scored another goal butting us five down.  We then seemed to get a little momentum going and Paul Bathgate pulled one back and we were awarded a penalty which Jarid Hixon put away after the keeper got an hand on it only for it to come off the crossbar and land at Jarid's feet.

Final Score: Hamble United 2, Anglers 5

Hamble Scorers: Paul 'Billy' Bathgate 1, Jarid Hixon 1

Man of the match: Only one person in the frame for this Gary Rowe played at Centre-back during the second half and played well.

23/1/10 Hamble United V Bishops Waltham Dynamos.    This was supposed to be an away fixture but Dynamos pitch was waterlogged so we managed to turn the game around and play at home.  Our first game of the season was at home to Dynamos and ended 3 - 1 in our favour, so we had high hopes for to days game.   After such a long break everyone was a bit ring rusty but eager to play.   Firstly I need to say a big thank you to Captain Matt Royl and Mr Staples for helping in  getting our first set of new goals installed and today was the first time we were able to use them in anger and the goals and the box nets looked really great.   Anyway back to the match,  there have been some changes to the way we prepare for our home games thanks to Marc.  We know have hip hop, drum and bass? well its  music playing in the dressing rooms and it has changed the whole atmosphere.

The game kicked of with us once again dominating from the start.  We seemed to be camped in there half and 15 minutes in their keeper was shielding the ball out of play, but he didn't count on Sha nicking the ball from under his nose right on the line to slot it into an empty net.  the game continued with us playing some very good football short early passes meant that Dynamos had to work hard to keep us at bay.  Sha was taken out in the box to give us a penalty and then the unthinkable happen.  Mr Hixon stepped up I had my pen in hand to record his third successful penalty of the year.  Then it happened the keeper saved it.  Jarid was gutted, normally he hits the ball so hard no sane keeper wants to get in the way, but this time he choose to place it and the keeper got down low to reach it.  Never mind mate there will be more to come.   Then we scored again thanks the Shahin  a great ball was played through for Sha to run onto to comfortably beat the keeper.   We seemed to sit back a bit then started playing the long ball and the game got a bit scrappy.  Dynamos pulled one back before the break again because of a defensive error.

The team talk at the break was lets get back to what we do best and that's keeping the ball on the floor and playing quick football.  The second half started and we did just that.  for the first 5 minutes Dynamos didn't touch the ball.  We settled into the game and had two great opportunities to go further ahead both Matt Curtis and Sha had times when they only had the keeper to beat, but they had to much time and fluffed them both.  Shahin eventually got his hat-trick and we thought that was that.  But and its been a long time coming, PAUL 'BILLY' BATHGATE scored. Yes he scored.  Never afraid to get in where it hurts, Bill in the middle of a melee of players got his shoot away to find the back of the net.  He was slow to his feet as he kicked the bottom of a defenders foot, or was it shock,  the celebration was worth waiting for.  So we had a great day.

Final Score: Hamble United 4, Bishops Waltham Dynamos 1.

Hamble Goal Scorers: Shahin Bani-sadr 3, Paul 'Billy' Bathgate 1

Man of the Match: Everyone had  a pretty good game Shahin scored three,  but I'm going to give it to Matt Dorey worked hard all game and never hit a stray pass well done mate.

             ==================== HUFC ====================

12/12/09 AFC Anglers V Hamble United.  this was our second game against Anglers and after taking all three points at home we went into the game with confidence.  The match was our first league game for some time and we where eager to get back to winning ways.  We were surprised to see several new faces playing for Anglers which gave us something else to think about but this did'nt change the way in which we played the game.  This was a physical but good natured game, that the referee managed well. We dominated the game with the midfield winning every ball and any long ball that was played was dealt with by our back row.  Five minutes into the game the pressure we put Anglers under paid off, Matt Dorey made a great run down the right wing and hit a cross hard and low across the six yard box for Jarid Hixon to get on the end of.   The pressure continued and Anglers gifted us our second goal by taking out Mat Camfield in the box.  Once again Jarid stepped up to the plate to score yet another penalty.  We seemed to settle back on our heels for a while and let Anglers back into the game, their first goal was due to individuals not maintaining their discipline and losing their shape.  The second was a penalty, Matt Curtis was the last defender and as he made a run across the pitch to shut the player down he slid in to win the ball but the player went as well.  Just outside the box but the ref gave a penalty, which they dually converted making it 2 all as we went into the break.

After a strong chat during the break we went back out knowing what we need to tighten up on.  Once again we dominated all over the pitch Paul 'Billy' Bathgate winning everything and making some really strong but fair challenges.  15 minutes in we had a corner which was hit long to the back post Billy got his head to it for Danny G to chest, knee then tap it home 3 - 1 to us and Dan first of the season.  Mat 'cammy' Camfield then gave us back our two goal lead cutting inside the defender he only had the keeper to beat which he did sliding the ball low to his right taking the score to 2 - 4 to us.  I then used my remaining two Sub's, we had several opportunities to score but we didn't quite manage to and the game finished 2 - 4.   Another well deserved win.

Final Score: Anglers 2, Hamble United 4

Hamble Scorers: Jarid Hixon 2 (1P), Dan Gregory 1, Mat Camfield 1.

Man of the Match: Easy answer Paul 'Billy' Bathgate one of our most consistent players, covers every inch of the pitch and works his a** off for the team.

5/12/09 Hamble United V Queens Park Athletic.  Second round of the Hants junior 'B' cup we didn't have a clue who Queens Park where or what league they play in.  Everyone was available to play although some were not feeling at there best.  We have had two cup games in a row both of which were winnable,  This one went the same way as the last.  Straight from the start we were having far more of the game than our opponents, without making the most of the chances we had.  After about 10 minutes Queens Park capitalised on a defensive error to score, the lad playing upfront for them was a good player who didn't need much room to get his shot off.  There was no need to panic as we were still having most of the game and opportunities were coming our way.  Then it happened again, a defensive error cost us another goal.  We made our first change just before half time pushing Shahin out wide left.

You watch games like this on the TV, you can have all the possession in the world but if you cant convert your chances it means nothing.  Our Midfield dealt with everything that was thrown at them and controlled the game but the lack of goal scoring prowess is causing us some concern, especially as we still give away the odd goal due to individual errors at the back.  The second half was the same as the first with one exception, we where the team that scored Matt Dorey getting his first full 90 minutes hit a screamer to pull one back.  We then spent the rest of the game in Queens Parks half, several dead cert opportunities were missed and the game ended with a 1 - 2 loss.

We played some excellent football today but that's not good enough, we have to score goals and eliminate the individual errors that cost us goals.   We all know what is needed and we all need to take responsibility for our own short comings.  Queens Park had two very good players out there today their striker and their Keeper "who we didn't work hard enough".  Good luck to them in the next round they where a friendly bunch and it was a competitive but good natured game.

Final Score: Hamble United 1, Queens Park 2

Hamble Scorers: Matt Dorey 1,

Man of the Match: There were a few good performances out there today Matt Royl, Sam, Billy, Sha, Dorey but today I have picked Marc Waddington, for the first time all season he was throwing himself into tackles and still playing the ball around "I think he just likes getting muddy" well done mate.

==================== HUFC ====================

20/11/09 Test Park V Hamble United FC.  This was the second game in the league cup and against a team from junior 3.  We are more than capable of competing with teams in this league so  we played are normal game.  The pitch was very small in fact I would be surprised if it was big enough to play men's football on and the weather was foul.  It wasn't a very good game the football was poor and so was the ref but he was to both teams.  The first half passed without any clear opportunities for anybody, but we were having our fair share of possession.   The second half continued in the same vain except the weather got worse and the pitch started to resemble a swamp.  This made the game worse because everyone was throwing themselves into slide tackles and once you hit the ground they never stopped sliding.  Then we got our breakthrough, Jarid Hixon got onto the end of a ball that was crossed in from the left by Shahin.  All we needed to do was maintain our shape and discipline but once again some couldn't do that.  I made the decision to make some changes but it didn't workout, we conceded within 10 minutes.  Dovey made a great save to push the ball onto the post put he punched the ball into the roof of the net on the rebound.  Then we had some uncharacteristic defensive errors that gave Test Park a 3-1 win.

It wasn't a pretty game by any stretch and the score flattered Test Park, there best player was George Clouder, which I knew would be the case before we started.  I would say its only the cup and now we can concentrate on the league.  Well I can't, I don't mind losing to a better team but today we didn't.  Never the less Test park are going through to the next round and good luck to them.

Final Score: Test Park 3, Hamble United 1

Goal Scorer: Jarid Hixon 1

Man of the Match: Mike Dovey made some great stops today mate well done.

7/11/09 Hamble United FC V Freemantle Res.  This was a Hampshire junior B cup match against Freemantle Res and they have a habit of stifling our game.  We started well and 9 minutes in Cammy opened the scoring. It was a pretty even game but most of the chances were falling our way.  Cammy scored again on 30 minutes with a great header  and then Shahin scored making it three.  Then it happened again we lost our shape and discipline allowing Freemantle to pull one back.     We have players that think once we have scored a few goals they can play anyway they want, well today proved that attitude will cost us games in the long run.  In the second half Freemantle where awarded a soft Penalty which they converted even though Aaron got a hand to it.   We then had a player sent off which was ludicrous even Freemantle's supporters could not believe the ref's decision.   We hung on to get the win, but it was by no means a good performance. but it was a win.

Our Ref today was being assessed and i feel that put added pressure on him and in my opinion he got a big decision wrong.

Final Score: Hamble United 3, Freemantle 2.

Goal Scorers: Mat Camfield 2, Shahin Bani-sadr 1

Man of the Match:  Shahin Bani-sadr you're a far better player than last year mate, you don't stop working for the team.  Long may it continue.

==================== HUFC ====================

31/10/09 Inter Northam V Hamble United FC.  This was another cup game against a team in our league.  The first half wasn't a bad game of football, we had most of the ball without doing much with it, until the very quick Jarid Hixon burst through their back row with lightning speed to beat the keeper.  For some reason the game then changed.  Inter decided to start throwing the weight around.  Which during the second half resulted in a Penalty which Jarid Hixon converted.  Later in the half Inter had a player sent off for punching Matt Curtis in the face just for winning the ball.  The game finished with a 2 - 0 win for us. The sad thing about today's match was their manager said that his team are always like this.  We have still to play them twice in the league lets hope they are remembered  for the football and not the other rubbish some teams bring to the game.

Final Score: Inter Northam 0, Hamble United FC 2.

Hamble Scorers: Jarid Hixon 2 (1 Pen)

Man of the Match: Jarid Hixon Scored twice and ran his backside off for an unbelievable 90 minutes.

==================== HUFC ====================

24/10/09 Hamble United FC V Braisfield Res.  Today we faced a side that will be pushing for one of the top slots in our league and for the first time we played on our new and much larger pitch.  The performance today was a important as we needed to put to bed the disappointment of last week.  once again from the start we dominated the game all over the pitch and they had some of their first team playing.  Our first goal came after 24minutes a good ball in from the left side for Gary Rowe to hit home,  Shahin then made it two after going 1 on 1 with the keeper.  Matt Camfield then made it three after getting on the end of Billy's flick on.  Braisfield then got a lucky goal Matt Curtis put his foot through the ball to clear it from his six yard box only for it to hit their striker in the back and spin it's way into the net.

The second half continued in the same vain. Gary Rowe scored his second and finally Paul Furmage made it five from the penalty spot.  Again Braisfield got another lucky own goal this time young Lewis Bowers with a volley in the six yard which was supposed to be clearance but he sliced it into his own net.

Final Score: Hamble United 5, Braisfield 2.

Hamble Scorers: Gary Rowe 2, Matt Camfield 1, Shahin Bani-sadr 1, Paul Furmage 1 (P).

Man of the Match: Matt 'cammy' Camfield.

==================== HUFC ====================

17/10/09 Northend United Res V Hamble United FC.   This was the second round of the Junior B Cup and Northend were top of division 4.  We were full of confidence and played Northend of the park.  the only difference to last week was we couldn't put away the chances we created.  Towards the end of the first half Northend had one of their three opportunities on goal and that was a penalty, which their striker converted.  The second half started in the same fashion, then they scored their second goal which came from a corner the lad took it very well and deserved his goal.  We made a couple of sub's and went three at the back and for the last 40minutes we where camped in their half.  We scored our first goal from a throw-in of the head of Billy for Shahin to tap home.  2-1 and Northend were even further on the back foot.  We scored our second goal again from a throw-in, the ref blow the whistle and pointed to the half way line.  Their linesman held his flag up and told the ref that we had taken two touches to score and the second player was in an offside position.  They had a player on the post and it didn't touch a second player on the way in.  I leave you to decide the truth.  Two independent spectators saw what happen and followed both the Ref and the linesman up the pitch telling them they had got it wrong.  The game continued we hit the post twice but it wasn't going to be our day, the final score was 2-1.

The antics after the game have been reported to the league and hopefully will be dealt with appropriately.

Final Score: Northend United 2, Hamble United 1.

Hamble Scorers: Shahin Bani-sadr.

Man of the Match:  Paul 'Billy' Bathgate. You put up with a lot of grief on and off the pitch mate.  But it didn't effect your game one bit, a great performance that deserved a better result.

==================== HUFC ====================

10/10/09 Stanton FC V Hamble United FC.  We were playing today at King George the fifth playing fields, the pitch was excellent and so was the weather.  Stanton should have been our toughest opposition yet and for the first ten minutes that was the case, there was some really good football being played by both teams.  Then on 15 minutes came our breakthrough we where awarded a throw-in on the left hand side which Paul 'billy' Bathgate got his head to, I thought it came back of the inside of the net but by all accounts it was the crossbar but it fell to Gary Rowe to hit home.  0 - 1 that was the start of the onslaught, straight from their kickoff we won the ball in the middle of the park laid it off to Jarid Hixon 0 - 2 and then 4 minutes later Marc Waddington from a full 35yards out on the right hand side hit a screamer into the top left corner.  0 - 3 the speed in which we scored these three goals seemed to knock Stanton for six. We were playing excellent football, first to every ball and winning everything in the air Stanton could not keep possession or string more than three passes together and that was all down to work that was being put in by all of the team.  We scored every five minutes from then on Sahin Bani-Sadr taking us to four then Matt 'Cammy' Camfield making it five and Shahin scoring a second and taking us to six.  Then came our seventh and I have to make a big deal of this one, the mega fit PAUL FURMAGE picked the ball up on the edge of our 18yard box and with phenomenal skill and pace danced around all the Stanton players in his way to score a terrific individual goal to take us into the break 0 - 7.

The team talk was easy make sure we keep our shape and discipline and more will come.  We started the half with no substitutions.  the first ten minutes set the tone for the rest of the game, plenty of physical and late tackles coming from Stanton and it didn't help that the official ref didn't show and one of their players had to stand in.  Never the less we kept our cool mostly and held our own, we have proved time and time again that although we are a young side we are not easily intimidated.   Then came our first sub Paul Lush playing his first competitive game up front.  Sahin opened the scoring this half giving him his hat trick.  Joe Harman was the next sub to come on, again up front and shortly after he scored his first, throwing a great dummy then smashing the ball home to give us nine.  our final sub was made bring Lewis Bowers on at right back with Sam McMurray switching to left back.  Billy got his just reward scoring our tenth from a corner and finally Joe got his second and our final eleventh goal.

For the first ten minutes of this game Stanton gave as good as the got, but once we got our first goal that all changed.  The football we played was fantastic the best we have played so far this season.  the whole team played well long may it continue.

Final Score: Stanton FC 0, Hamble United 11.

Hamble scorers: Sahin Bani-sadr 3, Joe Harman 2, Jarid Hixon 1, Paul Furmage 1, Gary Rowe 1, Marc Waddington 1, Matt Camfield 1, Paul Bathgate 1.

Man of the Match: All eleven that started, that's not to say that the sub's didn't play well but the first half was what destroyed Stantons hopes of getting into the game.

==================== HUFC ====================

2/10/09 Hamble United V Freemantle Res.   After a very flat 3 all draw away from home I was hoping for a better performance today.  Freemantle had a few different players today who certainly made a difference to their performance.  Their Captain played centre-mid and made it very difficult for us to take control of the game, They also had a different keeper that pulled off a few exceptional saves.  Again we where not at our best, part of that was because we where kept busy all over the pitch by Freemantle.  Our first goal came curtsey of Paul 'Billy' or should I say 'Churchill' Bathgate again from a set piece he got his head to the ball and with a slight deflection put us one up.  it continued to be a tight game our second goal came from some good work from Shahin Bani-sadr playing down the right side, by not giving up on a ball he cut it back across the six yard box for Joe Harman to hit home.  We went into the break two up.

The team talk was to the point at half time get the ball on the ground, both wide players need to get back quicker as Freemantle were quite quick on the counter attack.  Freemantle upped their game in this half battling hard for every ball after approximately 10 minutes they had a break down our left side I didn't see it but they scored.  The game from then on was quite hectic it was end to end stuff at times we played some brilliant football but not enough of it.  But we have proved before we can battle with the best of them and we did that today finishing 2-1 winners.

Both keepers today hard great game pulling off some great saves.

Final Score: Hamble United 2, Freemantle Res 1.

Hamble Scorers: Paul Bathgate, Joe Harman.

Man of the Match: Aaron Mclean made some great saves today mate, well done.

==================== HUFC ====================

26/9/09 Hamble United V Anglers FC.  Anglers are a physical side who work hard all over the pitch.  For the first time I had had 17 players meaning 1 could not even get on the team sheet, which went down like a lead balloon.  That wont be the case every week what with injuries, work commitments etc but players will have to be rotated if it does.  Anyway back to the match, once again we started well but after about 10 minutes we conceded a fluky goal.  Dovey punched the ball clear from a corner but it hit one of their players on the head and went in from the underside of the crossbar.  The rest of the half Anglers never had a goal scoring opportunity.  We did but couldn't convert them, Anglers back row are strong and quite quick which meant the chances we had where hurried and lacked the little bit of finesse that would have seen them home.  The team talk at half time was pretty stern and partly about there attitude as well as their performance on the pitch.  We started the second half brightly and after 10 minutes Billy but a ball through to Cammy who hit a lovely strike to bring us level.

The second half saw two early substitutions Callum Fear coming on at left back and Paul Furmage up front, we were having most of the game but need a bit more muscle.  From another Matt Curtis long throw Paul got his head onto the ball to head the ball home.  Anglers started butting on the pressure which we dealt with well. Dovey pulled of a couple of excellent reaction saves during this time which prompted the final change of the match Jarid Hixon came on up front to hold the ball up, Are final goal was a great piece of individual play from Paul Furmage with the keeper and a defender at his back he knocked the ball over both of them to then control the ball on the edge of the six yard box and hit home.  The reaction of the defender was to kick the ball into the bushes.  the game restarted and play continued for another 5 minutes.

Not the best performance but a win neither the less.  Anglers were limited to only a handful of opportunities but for my part it was nice to have players on the bench that you can change the game with it may not be nice not playing but it will average itself out over the season.

Final Score: Hamble United 3, Anglers 1

Hamble Scorers: Paul Furmage 2, Matt 'Cammy' Camfield 1

Man of the Match: Matt Royl solid at the back very vocal and a great skipper.

==================== HUFC ====================

19/9/09  Eastleigh United V Hamble United.  Our first game in the Junior 'B' cup and against a team from a higher league.  But we were confident we could but on a performance and we did.  Another couple of forced changes today.  but as last week we started the brighter of the two teams and that's the way it stayed.  We were first to every ball and looked comfortable all over the pitch.  Our first goal came from a lovely ball from Paul Bathgate through to Shahin Bani-sadr to run onto  coolie slotting into the bottom left corner.  The rest of the half saw us dominate all over the park limiting Eastleigh to only 1 opportunity which was easily dealt with.  The team talk at half time was easy more of the same.

Once again from the whistle we were first to every ball our midfield where playing some great football the back row had no difficult with whatever was thrown at them and our two strikers had far to much pace for Eastleigh defence it was just a shame they couldn't stay on side more often.  After 15 minutes we scored our second again shahin butting it away.  Eastleigh were again limited to only a couple of shots on target which Mike Dove comfortable dealt with.  Our first booking of the season goes to Matt Camfield for have a friendly chat with their keeper who got himself booked as well.

A good team performance and a deserved win.  If we can maintain this level of performance we will go all the way.

Final Score: Eastleigh United 0, Hamble United 2.

Hamble Scorers: Shahin Bani-sadr 2

Man of the match: Difficult choice this week as there where a lot of good performances but I'm going to give it to Lewis Bowers another great game mate well done.

==================== HUFC ====================

12/9/09 AFC Freemantle RES V Hamble United.  A few changes today due to holidays.  But we should have had more than enough to take all three points.  We conceded a goal within the first ten minutes against the run of play, our keeper was lobbed from just inside our own half which was not the best start.  It was a good game for the natural as there was some good football being played by both teams.  We where having more of the game and created a few good chances which we did not finish.  Our first goal came from a set piece that we have been working on, Matt Curtis took a long throw to find the head of Paul 'Billy' Bathgate who headed home to equalise.  Again we put on the pressure to dictate the game and Jarid Hixon played an early ball through for Joe Harman to go one on one with the keeper and pass the ball into the net 1-2.  Then with minutes left of the first half we allowed Freemantle to get in behind the back row and equalise.  We went into the break at 2-2.

The second half continued in the same vein with us having most of the clear opportunities.  A missed Penalty, awarded for a deliberate hand ball on the line. Should he have been red carded everybody has there own view.    A couple of clear opportunities with one on ones with the keeper which we didn't convert.  then again we gifted Freemantle another opportunity to take the lead with only 15 minutes to play.  Again the lads dug in raised their came and equalised, again from a long throw from Matt Curtis this time Jarid Hixon heading home to make it 3 - 3.  The last 10 minutes we were camped in there half but couldn't find the winning goal.

Final Score: AFC Freemantle 3. Hamble United 3.  A fair result although we had most of the ball are finishing is not good enough and most of the team where a bit off the boil.  Freemantle are a good side who can knock the ball around and  I have a feeling we wont have many games as good natured as this one and with a good Ref.  The highlight of the match for me was to see our set pieces paying off.

Hamble Scorers: Paul Bathgate, Joe Harman, Jarid Hixon.

Man of the Match: Only two to consider today both centre-backs Matt Royl and Matt Curtis.  Matt Curtis getting the nod because of the assists for two of the goals.

5/9/09 Hamble United v Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Our first league game and what a good one.  Dynamos finished second in their league last season and put up a good display today. they conceded a free kick straight from the whistle by cleaning out Marc which set the tone for a physical game, we bossed the game but Dynamos made us work hard.  Paul Furmage's hard work up front paid off after 10 minutes put us a goal to the good.  There was some good football being played by both teams, but we still maintained the upper hand with some excellent display of one touch football.  Jarid Hixon playing up front for the first time put on a great performance and scored our second with a great shot from down by the corner flag, he admitted later it was a wayward cross, never the less they all count.  Dynamos pulled one back with an excellent free kick into the top left corner which gave the keeper no chance, this gave them a lift but the lads raised there game and a few short minutes later we were awarded a penalty.  The keeper fouled Matt Curtis after he found himself in the wrong penalty box.  Jarid Hixon stepped up with his usual confidence to make it three and effectively finish off the game.

This was a great performance all round the first of many I hope. We dominated every area of the pitch playing some great football and working as a team.  Special mention for Lewis Bowers worked really hard and justifiably deserved the praise of his team mates.  As do you all.

Final Score: Hamble United 3 - Dynamos 1

Hamble Goal Scorers: Paul Furmage 1, Jarid Hixon 2 (1 Pen)

20/8/09 Hamble United v Saints FC.  This was our third friendly (if there is such a thing) Saints are from a division higher than us Div 4.  we started really well scoring early on and then bagging two more going into the break 3 goals to the good.  Once again we take a lead and then stop playing are normal game and try hit long balls instead.  Saints came back into the game during this time scoring two goals of their own.  but we worked hard and put away another two which finished the game off.

For most of the game we played good football but there is still the odd time we revert to long ball football which is not our game and it never will be.

Goal scorers: Mat 'cammy' Camfield 2, Paul 'billy' Bathgate 1, Pip Nolan 1, Joe Harman 1 (pen).

13/8/09 Hamble United v Manor Wasps.  Wasps are in the same league as our reserves side. A big physical side they work hard but our fitness was far superior this was another good game to have as the younger members of the squad need to be able to hold their own against teams and over the last two games they have proved they can.  We should have punished wasps with a few sitters not put away but another 3 - 1 win was a good result.

Goal scorers: Mat 'cammy' Camfield 2, Joe Harman 1.

09/8/09 New Forest Eagles v Hamble United.  This was our first pre-season friendly, Eagles are a Sunday league side that we knew nothing about.  I think it would be fair to say that they had high hopes when they saw how young a side we are,  but they soon found out how wrong they were.  this was a very physical game and a couple of their players had to be spoken to.  We played with great maturity an did not get involved with any of the agro, but doing our talking with our feet.  We walked away from this game 1 - 3 winners and knowing a lot more about ourselves we can hold our own against the more physical sides and still play our game.

Goal scorers: Joe Harman 2, Paul Furmage 1.
