On the 24 and 25th of August Scottish and Southern installed mains power to Mallards Moor.  I would like to say a very big thank you to Alan Devine for all his efforts in making this happen and to the guys who volunteered to carry out the additional work at the ground, cutting back the bushes, brambles and removing old stumps, they all put in a very good days work and have made a real difference at the ground.   I would also like to thank Mr Knights at Hamble Community Sports College for allowing the work to take place.  The School have also given us permission to run a kitchen on the ground selling Tea and Coffee on match and training days.  This will give us an opportunity to raise extra funds for the club all we need is a few volunteers to staff the kitchen.  We still need to complete all the wiring to the containers and lights but I'm hoping this will all be finished for the start of the season.

Having had the small container broken into and the generator stolen I had the locks reinforced and increased to 3.  We then purchased a replacement generator and we have had this running for just over three weeks, well the morons are back.  This time they used a petrol disk cutter to cut the locks off and steal the generator.  Once again the Police have been informed.

This time we are going to change the way we use the floodlights, the generator is going to be stored off site and taken to the ground every training session.  I know this will be a pain but it is the only way we can prevent the Generator from being stolen.

On Thursday (15/10/09) evening after the men's first team had finished training our small container was broken into and our generator was stolen.  This is the first time we as a club have experienced this problem.  The Police have attended the site and details have been taken.  Unfortunately it means that teams will have to make alternative arrangements until the generator can be replaced and the container is made more secure.  We have suffered two years in a row with moronic individuals shooting out our flood lights at the ground, but we repeatedly replace them and continue to train and this will be no different.  If anybody has information as to possible culprits for these acts especially the latest one please e-mail or phone.

And if anybody has contacts that may be able to do us a deal on a shipping container, I would love to hear from you.
