Southampton Tyro League U12 – 6/9/09 Hamble United vs Kingsway Colts.

The first game of the season went extremely well for Hamble, with a result which saw them go top of the league after week 1.  Hamble had a lot of chances at the beginning of the game, as a result of their good passing game, but could not seem to finish any of the off, with the post being the main thwart!  However after 15 minutes the deadlock was broken with Jay Watts scoring his first goal of the day. Jay then setup the second goal by whipping a corner across which James White got his head to and put it straight into the back of the net. Jay then rounded off his good first half by running through the entire Kingsway defence and slotting the ball home making it 3-0. From another corner Daniel Noonan found the net to make the score 4-0, and then had another shot which didn’t quite make it over the line without Jonathan Guys intervention, making the score 5-0 to Hamble at half time.

HALF TIME: Hamble United 5 – 0 Kingsway Colts

Hamble started the second half strongly again with Jay Watts quickly finding the net again rounding off his hat-trick. The game then had a relatively quiet 10 minutes, where Kingsway threatened the Hamble goal a little more, Mark however was doing a good job sweeping the balls up behind the defence and produced a good save.  In the final 15 minutes, another Hamble corner caused Kingsway trouble, with a defender putting the ball into his own net, then a few minutes Ben Butterworth scored to make it 8-0. With a couple of minutes left, from yet another corner, Morgan Frost finished the cross nicely.

An excellent all round performance with every member of the team putting in 100%.
